Singles Going Steady è la prima raccolta pubblicata dalla band punk rock e pop punk Buzzcocks poco prima del suo provvisorio scioglimento avvenuto nel 1980 (la band si è riunita in seguito nel 1991 ed è tuttora in attività). I Buzzcocks furono i primi ad autoprodursi, registrando e stampando in proprio un biglietto da visita chiamato Spiral Scratch. Canzoni memorabili nel senso letterale del termine, perfetta unione di impeto punk e melodia pop che da allora fa scuola. Potete chiedere informazioni al riguardo ai Green Day, o ai Prozac+.



La rivista Rolling Stone l'ha inserito al 358º posto della sua lista dei 500 migliori album

“Hey ho, let’s go!” … gridavano i Ramones nell’iniziale “Blitzkrieg“. Potremmo utilizzare il famoso incitamento per lanciare il nuovo, ennesimo, capitolo discografico che riguarda la storica band newyorkese.

E' la Rhino Records – famosa per le ristampe discografiche – a rilasciare il 29 ottobre 2013 “Ramones: the Sire years (1976-1981)“, un cofanetto che racchiude i primi sei album che fecero la storia del punk rock mondiale.

Nel cofanetto sono inclusi l’omonimo album di debutto del ’76 ma anche altri seminali titolo come “Leave home“, “Rocket to Russia” (1977), “Road to ruin” del ’78, “End of the century” (famoso perchè prodotto da Phil Spector negli anni 80) e “Pleasant dreams” pubblicato nell”81.

The Ramones were, undoubtedly, one of the most influential bands in the history of rock. They created, almost by accident, the cornerstone of a sound that later became punk and all its sub-genres. Drummer Thomas Erdelyi (Tommy Ramone) was the one who gathered his friends Jeffrey Hyman (Joey Ramone, vocals), John Cummings (Johnny Ramone, guitar) and Douglas Colvin (Dee Dee Ramone, bass) to form the group in 1974, never imagining they were going to build a career for more than 20 years, amd more than 2,000 live shows with just a few lineup changes.
